Advocating for the health and wellbeing of everyone in Aotearoa New Zealand

In Loving Memory of Nita Brown

Nita made a vital contribution to the Pōneke Branch of the PHA, bringing cultural insight, understanding and warmth to our meetings, and much wisdom and guidance on our Tiriti journey. She was highly respected by all, and lived the values of public health in her work and community. We shared Nita’s joy at bringing her daughter Luna into the world during her time at the Branch, and got to know Nita’s elder daughter, Ngaawharau, too when she came to PHA meetings. Our love and condolences are with Nita’s friends and whānau at this sad time, particularly her daughters who have lost their māmā far too young. We celebrate Nita’s life and are forever grateful for the knowledge she shared, and the contribution she made.
