Asian Caucus Hui September 2019
This year as part of our AGM day we are holding an Asian Caucus hui.
We'd like to invite anyone interested in Asian public health to join us.
We are delighted to announce that our guest speaker will be Dr Sherly Parackal, Research Fellow, Preventive and Social Medicine, University of Otago, Dunedin.
The Asian population in New Zealand (NZ) makes up approximately 12% of the population and is the country’s third largest major ethnic group. The focus of this presentation will be on how health statistics data is currently presented for “Asians” and the associated consequences of the sub-group categorisations used and propose a categorisation that will help to clearly highlight the differing health risk profiles of Asian subgroups.
Date: Tuesday 10 September Time: 12:00pm - 1:00 pm Venue: Lagoon Room 3, Waipuna Hotel & Conference Centre, Auckland.
if you can't make it in person, please join us by ZOOM. If you can't attend and would like to send your apologies please email libby@pha.org.nz
We'd love to see you there.
