Beyond diversity: the myth of institutional inclusion

The events of 2020 have been a global reminder of the social inequities that exist in our communities. This has been illustrated in the ways that the our most vulnerable become further marginalized in crisis situations such as the COVID 19 pandemic. Institutions are thinking about how they can respond to these realities and be more reflective of the populations that they serve. These organizations are actively addressing and creating policies and programs that respond to gender based discrimination and racism. But are they working? Join us as we think about diversity and inclusion practices in our institutions in Aotearoa and beyond and ask are these practices implementing inclusion or is it simply a myth.
