SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS

At the Public Health Association of New Zealand (PHANZ), Special Interest Groups—aka SIGs—are spaces where members can come together around a shared passion or focus within public health. Whether it’s climate change, mental health, Indigenous health, or food systems (just to name a few), SIGs give people the chance to connect, kōrero, share ideas, and work together to make a difference.

SIGs are led by members, for members. They help shape PHANZ’s mahi by feeding into policies, sparking conversations, running events, and advocating for the issues that matter most to them. It’s a great way to meet like-minded people, stay up to date with the latest thinking, and be part of meaningful change in Aotearoa.

If you’re a PHANZ member and there’s a kaupapa you care about, there’s probably a SIG for it—and if not, you can help start one!

If you are interested in forming your own Special Interest Group, please contact our National Office at: admin@pha.org.nz. We’ll put you in touch with other like-minded individuals and help share the important work that you do!
